Operated by the Environment Agency Austria and the Austrian Soil Science Society, Bodenforum is an independent, supra-institutional body. It is supported by the specialized agencies of the federal counties of Austria, specialized soil institutions as well as the ministry.

„We discuss current problems of soil protection of national and international importance on a professional level.“Andreas Baumgarten, AGES, president of the Austrian Soil Science Society
On 9th&10th of May 2023, the Bodenforum will gather again with a special focus on „EJP-SOIL – Wissen Schaf(f)t Praxis: klima-smartes, nachhaltiges Bodenmanagement in Österreich“ [Science shapes Practice: Climate-Smart Sustainable Soil Management in Austria]. The Austrian EJP SOIL coordinator, Sophie Zechmeister-Boltenstern (BOKU) will present the overall idea of the programme. Furthermore, Austrian research institutions such as the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU), the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) or the Federal Forest Research Center (BFW) will present their project activities within EJP SOIL relevant for soil protection in Austria. Another important goal of the meeting is the implementation of research results into practice. Farmers and advisors are invited to join in for discussion of possible implementation of the results into practice.
„Together we develop ideas, strategies and measures to promote soil awareness among the public.“Monika Tulipan, Environment Agency Austria, organizer of Bodenforum
